Terms of Service

  1. About Us

Lucy’s Art Club is an inclusive, community-led arts collective offering free creative opportunities for adults. We host monthly Saturday art clubs, monthly Tuesday studio sessions, 1:1 mentoring and virtual coaching, and opportunities to exhibit and sell work. Our mission is to create a supportive, accessible, and welcoming environment for all creatives, with a focus on neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities.

  1. Audience & Eligibility

Lucy’s Art Club is open to all individuals aged 18 and over. Our activities are designed for adults of all backgrounds who have demonstrated a creative practice. We particularly welcome individuals who are neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+.

  1. User Conduct

We have one guiding rule:
Be respectful to one another.

We are a drama-free zone with a zero-tolerance policy for disrespectful behaviour, as we are committed to supporting vulnerable adults.

All participants, including staff and members, must treat others with kindness, care, and respect, and refrain from any behaviour that is harmful, disruptive, or illegal. This includes harassment, discrimination, bullying, or engaging in any unlawful activity (such as possession of illegal substances or theft).

Anyone whose behaviour does not align with these values will be asked to leave sessions or removed from the community without notice. These rules apply equally to all staff and members.

  1. Membership and Access

Lucy’s Art Club is completely free to join. There are no membership fees, and all sessions and mentoring are offered at no cost, funded by Arts Council England and Create NEL. Spaces may be limited for Art Club activities, so we recommend advance booking. You can book directly with Lucy:

  • In person
  • By email
  • Or via our social media channels

  1. Onboarding & Access Support

Initial sign-ups are not considered complete until members have completed a short onboarding session, either in person or via Zoom. This includes an accessibility survey, which helps us understand your needs and tailor our support accordingly.

Once onboarding is complete, members are eligible to apply for:

  • Travel bursaries
  • Materials bursaries
  • Other support and opportunities

  1. Photography, Promotion & Copyright

We regularly photograph our sessions and events to share the work we do. These may be used on our social media, website, or promotional materials.

During onboarding, you will be given the option to opt out of being photographed or featured online. We will always respect your preferences.

We also share members’ artwork to help promote our artists, especially during exhibitions. Artists retain full copyright over their work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  1. Sales & Commission

Artwork sales on behalf of members are managed exclusively through Turntable Gallery during exhibitions or events. Turntable Gallery offers an exclusive 30% commission rate to Lucy’s Art Club members and handles all payments directly with the artist.

Lucy’s Art Club does not take any commission from artwork sales.

  1. Privacy & Data

We collect some personal information, including names, contact details, dates of birth, and access needs, to manage your participation and provide inclusive support.

  • All personal data is stored securely
  • We use anonymised data for reporting to funders (e.g. Arts Council England)
  • Data is never shared with third parties without your consent
  • Members can choose to roll over their data to new programmes; otherwise, it will be securely deleted

  1. Safeguarding

Lucy’s Art Club is committed to your safety. We follow a formal Safeguarding Policy, available to view on our website. If you have any concerns or would like to raise an issue, please contact Lucy via email or social media.

  1. Communications

Lucy’s Art Club primarily communicates with members via email. Important updates, session information, and opportunities will be sent directly to your registered email address.

Additionally, selected information and highlights may be shared on our social media channels to promote the collective and celebrate the work of our members.

By participating, you agree to receive communications through these channels. You can update your contact preferences at any time by contacting us.

  1. Cancellation Policy for 1:1 Mentoring & Virtual Coaching

To respect the time and commitment of both members and staff, 1:1 mentoring and virtual coaching sessions must be cancelled by email at lucy@lucysartclub.co.uk or through Calendly with at least 24 hours’ notice.

If a session is not cancelled within this timeframe, it will be considered attended and cannot be rescheduled.

  1. Complaints Procedure

If you have a complaint regarding any aspect of Lucy’s Art Club, please report it by email to lucy@lucysartclub.co.uk.

All complaints are taken seriously and will be investigated by the Directors’ Board of our sister organisation, Purple Peacock CIC, which meets quarterly.

If additional information or clarification is required, you may be asked to attend a meeting to discuss your complaint further.

Our aim is to resolve complaints fairly, transparently, and promptly.

By engaging with Lucy’s Art Club, you agree to these Terms of Service.
These terms may be updated from time to time, with notice provided where appropriate.
